Sunrise PointThis favorite viewing point has a splendid first chance view of the Bryce Amphitheater. Queen's Garden 1.4 mile (2.3 km) hike is the most popular trail with excellent views from below the rim begins here and meets the Navajo Loop Trail for those who would like a little longer hike (2.9 miles - 4.6 km). Sunset PointJust beyond Boat Mesa that is extending into the canyon at this point is Aquarius Plateau, the highest plateau in North America. At one time Aquarius Plateau was the same height as Paunsaugunt Plateau. Due to earth movement at Paunsaugunt fault, Aquarius Plateau has raised 2,000 feet higher. On Aquarius Plateau's southern side are the Table Cliffs. To the left of Sunset Point is Thor's Hammer. On the right side there are vertical cliffs called Wall Street and a maze of rock formation called Silent City. Inspiration PointThis is the central location for the Bryce Amphitheater. The Silent City Cliffs made by gully walls below Sunset Point is best viewed here. The fascinating rock wall labyrinth created by connecting hoodoos are more than 600 feet (183 meters) long and 200 feet (61 meters) high. Bryce PointLocated on the Bryce Amphitheater's southern side this point has a unique and beautiful view from the other amphitheater points. The vibrant colors that vary through the day due to the change in sunlight changes the canyon colors all day. Taking the Under the Rim trail and going south about 1.5 miles will take you to the "Hat Shop." Here you will find hoodoos that have a weather resistant rock that looks like a hat for the rock column below. Hat ShopThe Hat Shop has unique columns were a weather resistant boulder caps the tops. At one time this boulder resided on the cliffs above then fell on the lower lying area. As the area eroded the boulder acted like an umbrella preserving the soft cemented conglomerate column below it. Paria View (8,175 feet - 2,492 meters)On the south side are the White Cliffs created by the Paria River eroding the land down to the light colored Navajo sandstone.
